This very old and rare vintage butterfly brooch could be a remaining one of a kind. I believe it to be from the early 20th century and you can just imagine a woman from that era wearing this brooch.
The brooch is rectangular shaped with angular cut corners. The gold tone frame has tarnished over the years but I wouldn't dare attempt cleaning it because the piece is so old.
The design is open work metal style. It features a light color beige butterfly with baby pink accents on the wings. The butterfly sits in the center surrounded by green vines and leaves and colorful flowers. All elements of the design appear to be handpainted in muted colors. NOTE that the colors on this vintage brooch are a little brighter than displayed in the pictures.
This rare butterfly brooch closes with a "C" clasp and a spring type pin clip. This could be a collectible even though it is not signed nor "like new". It's just totally unique.
